Hello Amelia Elementary family and friends, I’m John Balow.  My family and I are excited to call Virginia our new home. We recently relocated to Virginia from Wyoming where I taught for 5 years and had been in various school administrative positions for the last 25 years.  My wife and I have been married for 28 years and we have two children ages 23 and 16, and one grandchild.

My seven siblings and I were raised on a farm in southeastern Minnesota. The skills, knowledge and ethics learned during my childhood have served me well as an adult.  I am happy to be close to the action as an assistant principal and am fortunate to be part of a wonderful team of educators here in Amelia.

Thank you all for filling our hallways with such wonderful kids!  My door is always open to visit.
