John Harmon demonstrates to 4th graders proper flag etiquetteOn Monday, November 23, 2015, the 4th graders at Amelia County Elementary School were treated to a lesson on proper flag protocol. John Harmon spent the morning visiting classrooms and teaching students about the history of the flag and what the symbols represent. Following the classroom presentation, Mr. Harmon provided hands-on training to a group of students on how to properly raise and display the flags. The students and teachers thoroughly enjoyed the classroom discussions and gained a greater appreciation for the historical significance. A special thanks to Commander John Harmon and the American Legion Post 87 for working with the students and for their continued support of our students and the community.
