About The Teacher

I am excited to be a part of the wonderful faculty here at Amelia Elementary School for my 21st year. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts degree in Elementary Mathematics. I even completed three math courses which reviewed mathematics concepts in Grades 3-5, 6-8, and Pre-Algebra.

My husband and I have two married sons. One lives nearby, and the other one lives in Texas. Our first grandson was born in 2007. Our first granddaughter was born in 2008. We now have a second granddaughter that was born in 2012 and a second grandson born in 2012. Being a grandparent is so exciting and amazing! As of October 14, 2016 we have two additional granddaughters and in 2017 we added another granddaughter. We now have five granddaughters and two grandsons. We are very blessed.

I have two cats I call "my girls" and a male Cockatiel. Each of them has a unique personality and strong opinions about things. Most of all they are very entertaining!

I am excited to be working with each of your child. We will be making progress towards successfully meeting or exceeding our kindergarten expectations.

Thank you for your help and support.

My mission is to teach so that each child understands.

My goal
is to teach each child to read for enjoyment and to learn.

Why do I teach?

Every day is a special gift and that is how I feel about the opportunity to teach. I believe I learn as much as my students by being given the chance to share information with them that they may or may not already know. Kindergarten is a challenging year, but my desire is to make it as painless as possible for you and your child. Most of all my wish is for my students to be as successful as they choose to be.
