Hello My Name Is...
Bethany Burke Shilan
Dear Parents,
Hello, I just want to take a moment and introduce myself. My name is Bethany
Burke Shilan; I am the early childhood special education teacher at Amelia County
Elementary School. I am very excited about working with you and your children!
Just to let you know a little of my back ground. I am a native of Amelia
County. I graduated from ACHS in 2001. I attended Radford University for four
years. I graduated in 2005 with a degree in Early Childhood/Early Childhood
Special Education and a minor in dance. In 2005 I was honored to attend the
Virginia Teachers of Promise Institute. I taught one year in Hagerstown Maryland then decided to come
back to my hometown of Amelia to teach. In 2010 I received my Master's degree
from VCU in Early Childhood Special Education. I was the 2017-18 Amelia County Elementary
School Teacher of the Year.
I can't wait to teacher my little surfer's this school year!
I love my hyper Jack Russell Mia. I also love the color lime green
and my favorite football time is the Washington Redskins HTTR!
